Day 1
Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Glasgow, and arrive late
afternoon at the Westerwood Hotel & Spa. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2
Today we have free time at the much-loved Glasgow Christmas Markets. The markets
encompass colourful stalls offering a selection of gifts, handmade products, and
world cuisine set in a festive village of rustic cabins and stalls. Whether you're
shopping for a special gift or looking for a bite to eat, Glasgow’s Christmas Markets
will be sure to please.
Day 3
Our day begins with a drive south along the Ayrshire coast through Troon to Ayr, a
popular holiday resort. We have time here for a look around the town and maybe a
seafront stroll and obtain lunch. In the afternoon we make the short trip to Dumfries
House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept secrets, with
sumptuous interiors and furnishings all set around 2000 acres of land. Remaining
virtually unchanged in 250 years, in 2007 King Charles III headed a consortium of
charities to purchase the house in order to keep this historical jewel intact and
accessible to the public.
Day 4
This morning we drive to Edinburgh’s centre to enjoy the Christmas Markets.
Edinburgh is a true Winter Wonderland at Christmas time and Scotland’s festive
markets are sure to delight. You’ll find gifts galore, fantastic food and Christmas cheer
aplenty. Enjoy time to explore the markets, pick up some perfect presents and sample
fine festive foods. From here we drive across the iconic Forth Bridge to the harbour
side where we will board for a 90-minute cruise and a delicious festive cream tea. We
will enjoy a sightseeing cruise that offers views of Edinburgh’s iconic Three Bridges
and the chance to spot the nature of the Forth.
Day 5
After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
