Helmingham Hall, Gardens & Constable Country

Day 1

Depart from Wales and begin travelling to East Anglia and arrive late afternoon at the Best Western Ipswich Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner bed and breakfast. Tea/Coffee & and biscuits served on arrival. Entertainment is provided on two evenings during your stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, we discover the idyllic villages of Constable Country on a guided tour. We visit East Bergholt, an unspoiled village with many fine old houses and cottages and the birthplace of the famous painter himself. See the church at Dedham, with its 131ft tower, and the little hamlet of Flatford Mill. Both were favoured subjects in Constable's paintings, with one of his works being named after the mill. From here we head towards Felixstowe for lunch - nothing like fish and chips at the seaside! We then have free time to explore before returning to our hotel.

Day 3

Enjoy breakfast in the morning, This morning our day takes us to Lavenham, one of the UK's most beautiful medieval villages in the heart of Suffolk. We stop in the town where you can wander around its many independent stores and marvel at the unique architecture. This afternoon we visit Helmingham Hall Gardens. Helmingham Hall is surrounded by a deep moat, deer park and peaceful grade 1 listed gardens. We spend the afternoon exploring the gardens which include beautiful rose gardens while taking in the amazing views of the hall and landscape scenery. Go back to the hotel and enjoy an evening meal.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast in the morning. Today we journey East to Waldringfield to enjoy a relaxing 2-hour cruise on the River Deben, one of the most beautiful spots on the East Coast. Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be served on board. Return to your hotel in the evening and of course, enjoy dinner.

Day 5

Enjoy breakfast, and then begin your journey back to Wales.
