Festive Market + Light Trail

DAY 1

Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Portsmouth, arriving late
afternoon at the Royal Maritime Hotel. 4 nights stay– dinner, bed & breakfast.

DAY 2

After a leisurely breakfast journey to Bournemouth to visit their wonderful Alpine
Christmas markets. Browse amongst the chalets of food, drink and local craftspeople
showcasing their festive goodies. The centre of the market is the delightful Alpine bar
where you can grab a festive mulled wine or hot chocolate and relax enjoying
atmosphere of the market. A Christmas Tree Wonderland of over 100 glittering trees
and illuminations create a spectacular walk from the market down to the sea front.
After your visit to the market the rest of the day is free to enjoy some of the other
delights of this seaside resort.

DAY 3

This morning we visit the historic city of Winchester, home to the world-renowned
Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market. You will have the chance to explore the
spectacular festive atmosphere, browse the traditional wooden chalets, and visit the
cathedral grounds. This afternoon we head to Ampfield to visit Sir Harold Hillier
Gardens. This 180-acre arboretum is transformed into a winter wonderland,
showcasing seasonal winter candle displays, towering evergreen collections, and
festive foliage across its distinct pathways.

DAY 4

Today is free to explore the Maritime city of Portsmouth at your own leisure. The
centrally located hotel is in walking distance of the cities attractions. The historic
streets are illuminated with seasonal lighting displays. Visit the Historic Dockyard,
home of 'Victory' and 'Mary Rose'. Perhaps wander around the Old Town and visit the
lovely cathedral as well as Spice Island, the former haunt of smugglers and press
gangs. A visit to Gunwharf Quays is a must, with an array of excellent shops, bars, and
restaurants fully decked out for festive shopping.

DAY 5

After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
