DAY 1
Morning departure from your home area travelling to King Robert Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast.
DDAY 2
This morning we travel to the Kelpies to marvel at the largest equine sculptures in the world - standing at 100ft tall. Afterwards, we have the rest of the morning free in Falkirk to explore and grab lunch before our afternoon visit to Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. We enjoy a scenic ten-mile return train journey to Manuel along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct.
B, DDAY 3
Our day begins with a drive across the Kincardine Bridge to pay a visit to the village of Culross (pronounced Cooross). Culross is the nearest thing to a 16th-century time capsule you will find anywhere in Scotland. It is as though much of the core of the village was simply frozen in time. The village is now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. Free time to wander around this ‘wee gem’.
From here we drive across the iconic Forth Bridge to the harbourside where we will board for a 90-minute cruise. We will enjoy a sightseeing cruise that offers views of Edinburgh’s iconic Three Bridges and a chance to spot the nature of the Forth River.
DAY 4
Today is free to explore our base of historic Stirling with its magnificent castle. Standing on a high plug of volcanic rock at the head of the Old Town, the castle is well worth a visit and attractions include The Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Great Kitchens and the stunning Renaissance Royal Palace. Nearby is the Church of the Holy Rude (‘Holy Cross’), worth a look if only for the magnificent stained glass.
B, DDAY 5
After breakfast, meet your coach for your return journey back to Wales. Stopping off in Jedburgh on route, for you to check out the local Jedburgh Abbey and Jedburgh Jail & Castle. You will then continue your journey back to Wales, with comfort stops on route.
BB=Breakfast, D=Dinner
